It might sound like a small pain, but it’s enough to not bother – getting the phone out my pocket, docking it in a phone holder and plugging the USB-C cable in is enough, but then there’s the 20-30 seconds it takes to detect and start actually working. I had high hopes for using Android Auto, particularly for mapping as I’d be confident it’s better than any car’s build in GPS and map solution but jumping in the car and having to plug the phone in every time is a pain. My new car had Android Auto support, but only via USB plugged in via the middle console of the car. I’ve been using the MA1 for about two months. If you answered ‘yes’ to all of those questions, then this is the product for you. Just be careful you don’t accidentally let your phone’s battery die.Does it only support wired connections and not wireless? If you want a wireless Android Auto connection, you can’t go wrong here. I still feel like the MA1 could be a little bit cheaper, but considering the performance I’ve experienced I wouldn’t regret paying $90. While the included sticky pad doesn’t offer the greatest adhesion, that's inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. On top of that, the dongle design offers a bit of flexibility on where the adapter sits in your car, without losing any performance in the process. And it does that job incredibly well, to the point where you’ll struggle to tell that it’s a wireless connection during use. The Motorola MA1 does exactly what it promises to do, offering wireless Android Auto support in cars that don’t have that capability. Sure, you can always plug your phone into a different power source, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless connection. Especially when you remember that wireless connections don’t offer the same recharging capabilities as hardwiring. That obviously isn’t the worst battery drain in the world, but it’s worth bearing in mind on longer trips. In my testing I found that the simple act of leaving my Pixel 6 Pro connected and playing music with the screen off caused me to lose 7% of battery in the space of an hour. Wireless Android Auto has something of a reputation for battery drain, which I could sort of see with the Motorola MA1. It took Android Auto 18 seconds to launch when I physically plugged my phone in with a USB cable the wireless connection with the MA1 took around 23 seconds. The most obvious one is that the MA1 took slightly longer to initialize than wired Android Auto. Of course there are a couple of limitations to consider, both of which stem from the fact that wireless connections are not as fast or efficient as wired ones. Then it’s a case of pairing the adapter to your phone, as you would any other Bluetooth device, and waiting for the wireless connection to initialize.Īll the problems I experienced were problems I’d had with a wired connection - Audible skipping like a cheap portable CD player, the Nissan infotainment system crashing and rebooting mid-drive, or the fact my touchscreen is about as responsive as a dog when it’s time to take a bath. Once everything is ready to go, and Android Auto is running, you unplug and swap the USB cable for the Motorola MA1. The first step is to make sure your phone and Android Auto are all set up, which involves little more than plugging your phone into the car’s USB port. Setting up the Motorola MA1 is a fairly straightforward process. Not that you’ll have any trouble finding phones that have both. This means your phone registers the connection the same way, so you’ll need a compatible device - one that supports 5GHz Wi-Fi and runs Android 11 or newer. The MA1 uses a mix of Bluetooth and 5GHz Wi-Fi to connect to your phone, the same protocols as any other built-in wireless Android Auto setup. You only need to concern yourself with this the very first time you connect, though it’s worth mentioning that it can only pair with one phone at a time. Finally there’s a single button on the side, which can toggle Bluetooth pairing mode or reset the adapter to factory settings.

You start a business, then invite up to 3 friends for a 4-player game. Multiplayer works pretty much the same as Bus Simulator 18. The multiplayer company remains a benchmark At least for AI… because human colleagues are another thing. And believe me, your colleagues are on time. Better, if you are pedestrians, you can consult the times of passages on a stop, the game will then tell you at what time the next bus will pass. You can start with a little “ticket check please” before asking the driver to move their back of the seat to let you drive. Moreover, when you want to take a bus to attack a route, solo, you will have the choice between starting from scratch with the bus (too bad for your IA colleague if he was in it) or then get on the bus with an IA driver. In other words, when you are not playing and you are just pedestrians, your fleet continues to supply the city, which contributes even more to give that feeling of life. In Bus Simulator 21, the city, life and transport don't turn off, they are continuous. We're not talking about improvement here, no. The AI will come to your support in the first place.Īrtificial intelligence has been reviewed. We take as much pleasure in walking as in the bus, that is to say!Īngel Shores also has a strong personality, with recognizable neighborhoods: industrial zone, China Town, waterfront, hills, shopping areas… And such a large map is not made for one player. Details abound, until you find cans in front of the trash cans, the buildings (ALL buildings) have pseudo 3D interiors like what Giants Software does on the Erlengrat map of the Alpine Farming DLC. Angel Shores tickles the eyes and totally takes it off. The part taken by the developers for a colorful and rather fun environment (just see the proportions and the approach of the NPCs for a laugh) contrasts radically with the competing games. Because yes, in Angel Shores, the population is present, whether by car, with intelligent and dense traffic, or by its pedestrians, who like to cross the road (on the nails anyway) before your arrival. Even the recent and ultra realistic The bus is not as alive. The work done here is unprecedented in a bus simulation. The old map, Seaside Valley is also present, but stuck when launching the game. stillalive managed to manage the balance "Playing pleasure / economic difficulty" wonderfully, so that aspiring drivers can concentrate on the most interesting: city driving.Īnd what a city! Angel Shores, the new American card, is simply magical, magical. The money falls quickly enough and in sufficient quantity to allow an unrestrained progression. But on that side, don't worry, Bus Simulator 21 is not a game where you will spend most of your time doing the accounting. Accordion, gas, electric, and for the first time double-decker buses, you will have to earn your living to unlock them and be able to buy them. Enough to occupy you a hundred hours all the same.Īnd the hours, we do not count them at the wheel of the very complete fleet of the game. For example, you will have to create routes, interconnect them, allocate night buses to meet the demand of certain neighborhoods (nightclubs oblige), buy ecological buses (electric buses are a novelty in BS 21), increase the level of frequentation of certain stops, etc. The progression is quite linear, with clear and easily achievable goals. But the most interesting gameplay undoubtedly comes from the scenario mode, in which you will be guided by the municipal team and Mira, who returns to service by your side for your first hours walking the alleys of Angel Shores. Like any good self-respecting simulation, you will be free to move around and drive your buses as you see fit, as long as you respect the signs. In short, the player will move towards pure and hard simulation or towards arcade driving with simplified controls. At the first launch, you will be able to choose between 4 profiles according to your driving style. At the helm of an urban transport company, you will have to manage your fleet, your employees, but above all your routes through a coherent and well-structured scripted mode, in order to increase your experience and satisfy users. The research paper by Bacon, Freeth, and University of Durham professors Paul Pettitt and Robert Kentridge, as well as independent researchers Azadeh Khatiri and James Palmer, was published on January 5 in the Cambridge Archaeological Journal.īacon said he used information and images of cave art publicly available online and through the British library to collect data and look for repeating patterns. This discovery predates other systems of record-keeping by at least 10,000 years. The research team compared the birth cycles of modern versions of the animals with the number of marks to determine that they referenced a lunar calendar and tracked reproductive cycles. “I was stunned when Ben came to me with his underlying idea that the numbers of spots or lines on the animals represented the lunar month of key events in the animals’ life-cycles,” Freeth told the BBC. University College London honorary professor Tony Freeth was one of the experts Bacon consulted about his theory and became a research partner.
