Other times, it's been playing some high point birds or tucking a lot of cards. Sometimes, just laying eggs repeatedly in the last round has won me the game. I try to play cards that will meet more than one round goal when possible (wildcard nests can be VERY helpful). I also find it helpful to try and get more than one bonus card if you can. You don’t want to be scrapping for cards, food and eggs or you’ll never get ahead. Maybe it’s a food train where you can get 5+ food tokens playing the row once between the base gain and activations. Maybe it’s two wetland cards that let you draw an extra card, so doing one “take cards” action let’s you have enough cards for the round. You want to set it up so that there is at least one action you very rarely have to do. If a bird gets me free food tokens on activation that’s ideal, because having to do the “take food” action is worse than “take eggs” since at least eggs get you points in the end. Not nearly as high as some people and I’m not like a power player but here’s what I’ve mostly done.įirst, in the first two rounds especially I almost totally ignore how many points a bird is worth in favor of getting good abilities. ![]()
